Although we've installed a new staircase, the rest of the landing hasn't changed much yet. We've decided to do the loft conversion before we decorate the landing.

	Photographing the landing is always awkward, but this gives you an idea of what it was like.
The existing staircase was the wrong way around, that's to say, it would've been impossible to get into the attic as it was. So we removed it . . .
	. . . and installed a new one facing the other way. We also made the landing narrower and the stairs wider.
The new staircase goes up towards the middle of the house, so when we put another one above it, we'll be accessing the tallest part of the attic.
	All the plaster has been taken off the front wall here - an interesting task, part of which I did by sitting on the upstairs window sill (don't tell my mum...).
Obviously, this area is still "under construction" so there aren't any 'after' photos yet.
